Abstract

[el] Το φύλλο της εφημερίδας Ελευθερία της 9ης Μαΐου 2002 επικεντρώνεται στις πολιτικές εξελίξεις γύρω από το Κυπριακό και το προτεινόμενο σχέδιο λύσης του ΟΗΕ. Το κύριο άρθρο με τίτλο «Σχέδιο λύσης φέρει ο Ανάν» αναφέρεται στην επικείμενη επίσκεψη του Γενικού Γραμματέα του ΟΗΕ στην Κύπρο στις 14 Μαΐου και στις προσδοκίες για παρουσίαση σχεδίου επίλυσης. Τονίζεται ότι ο ειδικός απεσταλμένος Ντε Σότο πρότεινε διευθέτηση με κατανομή 50%-50% σε όλα, προαναγγέλλοντας εντατικοποίηση των διαπραγματεύσεων τον Ιούνιο.
Στη στήλη «Άποψη» δημοσιεύεται άρθρο με τίτλο «Ποιος κυβερνά τον τόπο; Ο Κώστας Θεμιστοκλέους», το οποίο σχολιάζει την πολιτική κατάσταση στην Κύπρο και τις παρεμβάσεις προσώπων της τοπικής εξουσίας.

[fr] L’édition du 9 mai 2002 du journal Eleftheria se concentre sur les développements politiques liés à la question chypriote et au plan de règlement proposé par l’ONU. L’article principal, intitulé « Le plan de solution apporté par Annan », évoque la prochaine visite du Secrétaire général de l’ONU à Chypre le 14 mai et les attentes concernant la présentation d’un projet de règlement. Il est précisé que l’émissaire spécial De Soto a proposé un partage à 50%-50% dans tous les domaines, annonçant une phase de négociations intensives en juin.
Dans la rubrique « Opinion », un article intitulé « Qui gouverne ce pays ? Kostas Themistokleous » commente la situation politique à Chypre et l’influence de certaines figures locales.

[en] The May 9, 2002 issue of Eleftheria focuses on political developments surrounding the Cyprus issue and the UN’s proposed settlement plan. The main headline, “Annan Brings a Solution Plan,” reports on the upcoming visit of the UN Secretary-General to Cyprus on May 14 and the anticipation of presenting a peace framework. UN envoy De Soto is said to have proposed a 50–50 division across all issues, with negotiations expected to intensify in June.
In the “Opinion” column, the article “Who Governs the Country? Kostas Themistokleous” discusses the Cypriot political climate and the role of local political figures.
